‘In Your Face’ introduces a vibrant collection of artworks dedicated to portraiture.
From bravura impasto brushstrokes in oil to carefully considered watercolours, this group exhibition offers an insight into nine artists' approach to modeling the face.
The exhibitors belong to Redcliffe Art Society’s long-standing Portrait group, currently under the helm of distinguished local artist Jamie Congden.
The collective meet every Thursday and each week a different sitter models for the group.
No instruction is given and each artist approaches the subject uniquely whether it be drawing, painting or sculpting.
Several works featured in the show were born from these live sessions while other works take their cue from film and photography.
